The Linden Vision
At the heart of Linden Housing Co-operative’s mission lies a straightforward yet impactful goal: to establish a nurturing, affordable housing co-operative at 79 Wilson Street. Our vision is clear — to create a not-for-profit, eco-conscious community that is both attainable and empowering for its members.
We are planning to build a three story, 42 unit housing co-operative. It will have a diverse mixture of units, including one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom units. It will also have a diverse mixture of members, from students to seniors.
Focused on Affordability and
Environmental Sustainability
In today’s challenging housing landscape, Linden Housing Co‑operative is committed to offering an affordable alternative. This project combines practical, sustainable living solutions with an emphasis on community well-being. Linden is dedicated to ensuring that our co‑op is not only environmentally responsible but also accessible to those of varied economic backgrounds.
Empowerment through Cooperative Living
At the core of the co‑op is the principle of collective empowerment. This project is about fostering a community where residents actively participate in shaping their living space. The co‑operative model is designed to encourage engagement and shared decision-making, ensuring that every member’s voice is heard and valued.
Linden’s Committed Team
The co‑op project is guided by a team of dedicated individuals on our Board of Directors – Jeff Colver, Stephanie Corrin, Sheila Earl, Coral McMahan, Peter Seaby, and Shelley and Steven Welchner. Their involvement is driven by a shared commitment to bringing this project to fruition, reflecting the collective efforts of individuals who are deeply invested in the community’s future.
