February 15 update

We have a lot of good news to share.

  1. In our first week, we have already raised over $10,000 towards our GoFundMe campaign.  This includes a $3,000 donation from a local business person (that donation has yet to be formally added to the GoFundMe tally).  The support we have received from the community has been so generous, and we are immensely grateful.
  2. Our original target for our GoFundMe campaign was $60,000 (the anticipated cost of our feasibility study).  We have since determined that we will be able to apply for grants and loans with a scaled down version of our feasibility study that does not include certain reports that can be prepared at a later date.  This will significantly reduce the cost our feasibility study to $45,000.
  3. Yesterday evening, the Board of Directors of the Perth & District Community Foundation (PDCF) awarded Linden Housing Co-op a $12,000 Director’s Grant to help fund our feasibility study.  What an amazing gift to our community!   This grant will further reduce our GoFundMe campaign target to $33,000.   PDCF will also be sending out an e-blast this morning to its mailing list, announcing our GoFundMe campaign and encouraging donations.
  4. In total, in our first week we have raised approximately 50% of the $45,000 needed to pay for our feasibility study.
