Linden brought a delegation to the County’s Community Services Committee a few days ago. The councillors had many excellent questions, and we felt well-received by Council. We asked that the Council seek a staff report in response to our request that: (1) the County designate the 4.5 acre lot behind Lanark Lodge for affordable housing; (2) the County institute an RFP process on an expedited basis for proposals to use that land for affordable housing; and (3) the County commit to transferring that land to the successful applicant for $1. Council passed a motion directing staff to prepare a report for its consideration at its next Committee meeting ( April 10 ).
